HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The search is on for a 28-year-old man wanted for questioning in a shooting at a unit on Holland’s South Side.
According to Department of Public Safety officials, officers went to the Harbor Village complex off of West 40th Street on Friday evening after getting a call from the emergency room at Holland Hospital on a report of an unnamed 53-year-old Holland resident taken there for treatment of a non-life threatening wound in the leg. It was determined that there had been a “physical altercation” around 8 PM, leading to the suspect firing several rounds into a vehicle as it entered the complex’ parking lot nearly an hour later. The victim, who was hit by the gunfire, is expected to recover from his wound.
The man wanted for questioning is a Joseph Garrett McDaye, who is about 5-10 with a medium build. He was last seen driving a gray 2010 Buick Lacrosse four-door sedan; that vehicle has since been located on Saturday afternoon at an undisclosed location in the Holland area, according to Public Safety Captain Rick Walters, but McDaye was still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.
