GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – The second and final debate involving Congressman Bill Huizenga and challenger Rob Davidson before next Tuesday’s election is tonight in Grand Haven.
The two men faced each other in Newaygo a fortnight ago in a session that the four-term Republican incumbent from Zeeland felt was good. “There were hundreds of people there,” Huizenga said, “and unfortunately, there were some – not all – who chose to, quite honestly, not act in an adult manner.”
The economy wasn’t addressed a great deal in the earlier forum, but it’s something that Democrat Davidson, the emergency room physician from Spring Lake says needs to be brought up, considering the slow increase in earned income. “What I hear when I’m knocking doors across the district is that they haven’t seen their paychecks go up,” he said. “That’s the focus of (his) economic blueprint so that we can have everyone benefitting from a growning economy.”
Tonight’s debate is from 7 to 8:30 PM in the auditorium of Lakeshore Middle School off of Cutler Street.
