HOLLAND (WTHC-AM/FM) — The National Weather Service’s Grand Rapids meteorologists have issues an alert that thunderstorms are moving through West Michigan, producing small hail and heavy downpours along a line extending from Jenison to near Otsego to near Marcellus.
The storms are headed east at 35 mph and hail up to a half-inch in diameter is possible. The following cities are likely to see some of these storms: Allegan, Holland, Saugatuck, Zeeland, Grand Rapids, Hastings, Ionia, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Lowell, Portage, Albion, Charlotte, Eaton Rapids, Marshall, Mason, Paw Paw, Plainwell, Portland, St. Johns, and Waverly.
Low-lying areas may be foggy. Drivers should allow extra time and space for traveling and include extra space between their vehicles and others’.
