OTTAWA COUNTY (WHTC-AM/FM) — You’ve heard of pay it forward? Today is petal is forward, for the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan’s Be Nice. team, who are working with Eastern Floral to give away 1,600 bouquets.
They have crews hitting the streets of Holland, Grand Haven and Grand Rapids to hand out two bouquets per person they meet.
The idea is the recipient will keep one and give the other away, hoping to spread a little cheer and inspire some smiles, reminding people that you never know who may be thinking about you and your well being.
Be Nice. outreach this fall has included having Holland and Zeeland high school football players and band members wear uniforms with Be Nice. references. The goal is to reduce bullying and erode the stigma on mental illness.
