HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Spring Lake resident Sarah Vanderleek, 39, was hurt in a two-vehicle crash, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Dill.
Police were called to the crash scene, at 48th Avenue and Barry Street in Blendon Township at just after 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018.
Investigators found that Vanderleek did not see the 1996 Cadillac stopped in front of her 2017 Mazda. Hudsonville resident Benjamin Van Zweden, 25, had been driving north on 48th and stopped to make a left-hand turn, he told police.
AMR Ambulance took Vanderleek to Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital where she was listed in good condition.
Van Zweden was treated at the scene for minor head injury, Dill said, but transported himself to the Zeeland hospital.
Dill said both drivers were wearing seatbelts and the crash remains under investigation.
