HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The National Weather Service has issued a lakeshore flood advisory in effect from midnight Friday, Nov. 9 to noon Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018.
Winds from the west to northwest will blow through Ottawa and Allegan counties at 20 to 30 mph, gusting to 50 mph. Along the shoreline, that means waves could reach as high as 12 to 16 feet, creating minor beach erosion and the potential for property damages.
Waves are already topping piers, creating hazards, and could damage small docks.
Low-lying areas along the shoreline may flood. Other counties included in the advisory: Mason, Oceana, Muskegon, and Van Buren.
