HOLLAND (WTHC-AM/FM) — The City of Holland will host a series of community meetings on neighborhood planning starting Monday, Nov.12, 6-9 p.m., at City Hall, with daily events through the wrap-up presentation and open house on Thursday, Nov. 15, 6-8 p.m. at City Hall.
City officials plan on updating the zoning and other development ordinances to create a Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). The American Planning Association describes a UDO as “traditional zoning and subdivision regulations, along with other desired city regulations, such as design guidelines, sign regulations, and floodplain and stormwater management, into one document.”
For Holland’s new plan, city officals want residents’ and people referred to as “stakeholders,” such as business owners / operators, to share their ideas on the future of their neighborhoods.
For this purpose, city planners are focused on these four areas::
• Downtown/North Downtown• River Avenue/Michigan Avenue• Washington Avenue• Waverly Avenue

All events are free and open to the public.
