UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM) – If you are looking for something to do this weekend, the Lakeshore has three options for you.
Over 50 retailers are participating in the annual Downtown Holland Sidewalk Sales from 9 AM to 9 PM today and 9 AM to 5 PM tomorrow. City crews put up barricades overnight to block off 8th Street between College and River avenues to accommodate stores looking to put up tents in the streets for spotlighting their merchandise and/or services. More information is at the downtown Holland website.
The 13th annual Dogarama, “a Festival for your Pets,” is from 5 PM to 8 PM this evening and 8 AM to 1 PM tomorrow in downtown Zeeland. Besides having booths from merchandise vendors and pet rescue/support groups, the event will also feature 12 different contests and displays from the Ultimate Air Dogs professional entertainment group with a temporary pool and dock set up on Church Street. More information is at the City of Zeeland’s feature website.
Finally, the monthly Saugatuck-Douglas Antique and Artisan Market is tomorrow from 9 AM to 4 PM, “rain or shine,” at Beery Field in downtown Douglas. Organizers say that there will be more than twice as many vendors in August than in July, with a variety of activities planned. A two-dollar admission goes to a local charity; this month’s proceeds are for local food pantries.
Of course, the Holland Farmers Market continues its twice-a-week run tomorrow from 8 AM to 3 PM at the 8th Street Marketplace. The 10 AM weekly Saturday Chef Series features Esther Koukios from Greek to Go, as she shares a number of classic Greek dishers. More information is at the Farmer’s Market website.
