HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – One of the first steps towards formulating a Fiscal 2022 budget for the City of Holland will be taken tonight.
When the Holland City Council holds its biweekly work study session virtually at 5:30 PM, members will be seeing “Leadership Team Budget Videos” from city staff leaders, capped by a presentation from City Manager Keith Van Beek. “We give them a report on how we did in the calendar year 2020, and how we are doing in the first six months of our fiscal year, which runs from July through June,” he said during his monthly appearance on “WHTC Talk of the Town” last week, an appearance that Van Beek made shortly after he produced his video. “From a staff perspective, we’re also able to share with council what we think are the needs, the priorities that should be a part of building the budget for next year.”
Van Beek is hopeful that these videos will be available shortly for full public viewing. Council has its annual “advance” goal-setting session set for January 23rd, with a deadline for passing a new spending plan set for early May.
