LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan’s official Christmas tree for 2026 is a 60-foot-tall spruce from Iron Mountain.
The state Department of Technology, Management & Budget says the tree will arrive in downtown Lansing on Saturday, November 7th.
It is being donated by Larry Riccio and his family, who say when they bought their home in 1986, the tree was already large, but “it has outgrown the property.”
He says they are honored and excited to donate the tree, which will be placed on the state Capitol lawn.
It is the second tree to be chosen from Iron Mountain in the last 40 years.
