OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 23, 2026) – Without much fuss, the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a spending plan for Fiscal 2027 on Tuesday.
The $253.5 million budget includes $138 million in general fund spending and $7 million in capital projects. The matter was going to be approved as part of the consent agenda, but it was taken out and voted on separately at the request of Holland Democrat Doug Zylstra.
The financial blueprint is $52 million less than this fiscal year, due mostly to the establishment of a separate county Community Mental Health Authority earlier this year with its own independent budget.
