ALLENDALE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 19, 2026) – Another turbulent incident has been reported on the main Allendale campus of Grand Valley State University.
School officials disclosed that campus police received a call around 3 AM on Saturday from those who say that an armed man flashed a handgun during a party in the lobby of the Stafford Living Center. That suspect purportedly followed some attendees towards a dorm room, pointing the weapon at them, allegedly making threats about “spraying” the area, although no shots were fired, and no persons were hurt.
The suspect is described as being between the ages of 18 to 22, about 6-3 with a slender build, and was wearing a beanie hat, red pants, and a white tank top at the time of the incident. Police didn’t believe that there was a continuing threat following this incident.
Since classes began at GVSU last month, there has been a report of an assault and battery at one off-campus apartment complex, two persons arrested following a “large fight” on campus, a “Peeping Tom” arrested after breaking into another off-campus apartment unit, and a Flock surveillance unit damaged in an act of vandalism.
