WASHINGTON, Sept 16 (Reuters) – The National Transportation Safety Board on Wednesday urged U.S. states and other operators to adopt fully electronic tolling on highways after a fatal 2024 crash at a toll plaza in Ohio.
An SUV traveling at a toll plaza in Swanton Township, Ohio suddenly slowed and moved into the path of a truck-trailer while attempting to enter the low-speed manual toll booth. The truck struck the SUV and overturned, spilling sulfonic acid.
