GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 16, 2026) – A 43-year-old Grand Haven man will spend the next year in a federal prison for threatening to kill US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
Prosecutors claim that Christopher Ray Pyler posted a dozen “threatening comments,” between last November and this past January, in response to YouTube videos about civil unrest in Minneapolis. He also made Google searches for instructions to make hazardous chemical gases that he said he would use against ICE agents, and also purportedly searched for the home address of a former Secretary of Homeland Security.
Plyer pled guilty in May to a charge of communicating an interstate threat, and was sentenced this week to 12 months in prison by Chief US District Judge Hala Jarbou in Grand Rapids.
