HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Sept. 6, 2026) – A tradition dating back 20 years along the Lakeshore returns on Monday.
The annual Labor Day Truck Parade and Ice Cream Social kicks off at 9:15 AM from the MillerKnoll complex in Zeeland, as over 75 trucks and other vehicles will then head west into downtown Holland, ending up in the parking lots outside of the Heeringa Holland Civic Center Place, where they will be on display for the public to view, along with free Hudsonville Ice Cream and more.
Now-retired Holland City Councilman Mike Trethewey was among those who started this event in 2006.
One can’t fault Matt Neyens if he has a case of tingling teeth on Monday. The manager of West Michigan Regional Airport admits not getting his facility’s sweeper registered for the annual Holland Zeeland Labor Day Truck Parade. He said it would have been a great opportunity to showcase the airport’s value to the business community along the Lakeshore, something that he wants to enhance and build upon.
Earplugs are recommended for those persons who will be lining the parade route.
