HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Aug. 21, 2026) – On this final weekend before youngsters return to the classroom, a couple of fun activities are slated in the Holland area on Saturday.
From 9:30 AM to 1 PM at Windmill Island Gardens, the 7th annual Bark in the Park event will bring canine lovers onto the home of the DeZwaan Windmill for games, giveaways, and other attractions. Groomers, trainers, and other local organizations will also be on hand.
Meanwhile, all-day activities are slated for the inaugural Drone Race on the grounds of Helder Park (3751 104th Ave.) just north of Zeeland. Qualifying races start at 10 AM, with competition in the afternoon, before the public can try their hand during the early evening hours on a specially-designed obstacle course, according to Jupy Honneycutt with the Holland Area Visitors Bureau.
Regular Windmill Island Gardens admission rates will apply for the Bark in the Park affair, while the Drone Race at Helder Park is free for the public.
