HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A film series hosted by Holland’s International Relations Commission’s Reel Time Film Series features a visit to the Himalayas via the award-winning documentary Pad Yatra: A Green Odyssey.

“Pad Yatra: A Green Odyssey” showcases ancient Buddhist spiritual traditions, global environmentalism, and Tibetan and Himalayan culture.
The film also examines how people living in communities can help solve one of the world’s big problems — a glacial region known as Earth’s Third Pole, devastated by climate change.
Viewers will see 700 people trekking across the Himalayas, led by His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa, collecting plastic litter, helping sick animals, and investigating areas devastated by natural disasters along the way.
Shot with solar power by Himalayan monk, Ngawang Sodpa, “Pad Yatra: A Green Odyssey” also looks at religious communities rarely seen on film.
