HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A man and two boys from Hamilton were hurt when the 2005 Cheverolet van they were in crashed on I-196, near Byron Road in Zeeland Township on New Year’s Day, 2021.
Ottawa County Sheriffs deputies learned the van had been westbound on I-196 when he lost control on the icy roads The van rolled several times, stopping in a ditch. A 5-year-old boy was wearing a seatbelt in the second row seat, police said. The 11-year-old boy was no, and was ejected from the van, but police indicated his injuries did not seem life-threatening. All three went by ambulance to a nearby hospital, according to police.
Zeeland Township firefighters assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
