LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — State Senator Mallory McMorrow is ending her bid for the Democratic nomination in Michigan’s U.S. Senate race.
McMorrow announced she was suspending her campaign Sunday afternoon, leaving the race for the party’s bid between Congresswoman Haley Stevens of Birmingham and former Wayne County Director of Health, Human, and Veterans Services Abdul El-Sayed.
She is not making an endorsement between the two, but says whoever wins the August 4th primary will have her full support along with Jocelyn Benson for governor.
McMorrow adds the Democratic Party needs new leadership, saying people are crying out for change and they need to be heard.
