BEIJING, July 5 (Reuters) – ChinaAid, a Christian NGO, said on Sunday it welcomed the release of Pastor Jin Mingri, who had been held in detention centres in the southern Chinese city of Beihai since last October.
Jin has landed in the U.S., ChinaAid said in a statement. His daughter Grace confirmed the release.
U.S. President Donald Trump asked Chinese leader Xi Jinping for the pastor’s release during his May visit to Beijing.
