WRIGHT TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jul. 3, 2026) – A 22-year-old motorcyclist from Coopersville sustained life-threatening injuries after his machine collided with what Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies say was a “large bus” north of Marne on Friday morning.
No names were disclosed as first responders were dispatched to the intersection of 8th Avenue and Roosevelt Street around 10:20 AM. That was where the biker, heading southbound, collided with the westbound bus. Witnesses say that the bus had stopped for right-of-way traffic, and had begun pulling out to cross the roadway, when it was struck.
The motorcyclist was taken to a “Grand Rapids” hospital in critical condition, while the 35-year-old Conklin man piloting the bus was not hurt. Deputies didn’t say if there were any passengers in the bus at the time of the incident, which remains under investigation.
