Roger Nebe Arbury Jr. died Thursday, June 11, 2026.
He was born on February 22, 1938, in Detroit, MI to Roger Arbury Sr. and Barbara Marx Arbury. He is survived by his brother James Arbury of Dagsboro, DE and was preceded in death by another brother Albert Arbury.
Roger attended public schools in Detroit and graduated from Alma College. He was a standout rower with the Detroit Boat Club; he was a member of the winning 8 oared crew at Canadian Henley. As a teenager Roger was a caddy at the Country Club of Detroit when it hosted the 1954 USGA Amateur Golf Championship. The golfer he caddied for made it all the way to the semi-finals (match play) where he lost on the 39th hole to an up-and-coming golfer who already had total command of the gallery, his name was Arnold Palmer. Roger served in the Michigan Air National Guard.
Roger was an active member of Unity Church on the Lakeshore in Douglas and Unity Church in Naples, FL. Roger was a summer resident of Holland, MI and a winter resident of Naples, FL.
Roger started his career in marketing at General Motors and held other positions in sales and marketing with several firms. In 1980 he established “You’ve Got It Coming” Catering in Naples, FL with his longtime life partner Victor Kenyon. Together they built a thriving enterprise. They sold the business in 2010. He was preceded in death by Victor in 2014. Roger was a worldwide traveler having visited Australia, Argentina, Africa, Italy, and Southeast Asia.
