Dan L. Van Dam age 79, of Holland, met his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
He was the son of John and Esther Van Dam and worked as a maintenance technician for several area manufacturing companies. He enjoyed martial arts, snowmobiling, camping, hunting, fishing, and golf. He served in the Army and National Guard Reserve.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents and a great grandson, August Van Laar; and brother-in-laws, Bill Bos and George LePoire.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Joyce “Elaine” Van Dam; children, Tammy (Ken) Fuller, Tom (Stephanie) Van Dam, Diane (Mark) Vander Berg, Kraig (Susan) Grotenhuis, Kathy Marble; grandchildren, Alyssa Castillo, Hailey (Dan) Van Laar, Darian Guile, Silas Van Dam, Cheyenne Merkt, Madison Wakefield, Carin (David) Ariss, Jason Mulder, Ashley Grotenhuis, Tyler Grotenhuis, Kyle Carman; great grandchildren, Emery, Archer, Ezra, Jacob, Reece, Emmeline, Elise, Hudson; siblings, Carol Bos, John (Judy) Van Dam; in-laws, Barbara LePoire, and Mike (Karen) Batjes.
A memorial service with military honors will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2026 at Langeland Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St., Holland, MI 49423 with visitation from 12 noon until 1:15 p.m. prior to the service.
