GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 5, 2026) – An effort to bring the world of aviation to youngsters along the Lakeshore takes place on Saturday morning.
From 8 AM to 12 Noon, the Annual Dawn Patrol event takes place at Grand Haven Memorial Airpark (16446 Comstock St.). It’s an open house with a pancake breakfast, a silent auction, live music and more, with a handheld com radio giveaway for one person who flies in to the facility.
The event is sponsored by Flight Path, a non-profit whose mission is to introduce young people to the excitement of aviation. It’s based out of West Michigan Regional Airport, and Matt Neyens, who is just completing his first year as the facility’s manager, has been impressed by what the charity has done.
Tickets for the Dawn Patrol event in Grand Haven is $10, with kids five and under paying $5, and can be purchased at the door or online.
