Myron (Mike) Becksvoort, was called home by his loving Lord and Savior, on Friday, May 29. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Elaine (Bleeker) and children, Tom, Lori Wolters, infant son Jeffrey and son-in-law Bob Schuitema.
He will be forever missed by his daughter, Patti Schuitema, son-in-law Bill Wolters and daughter-in-law Kathy Becksvoort. Grandchildren Emily (Aaron) Shemon, Lisa (Joe) Ruggeberg, Steve (Sammy) Wolters, Blake (Taylor) Becksvoort, Brooke (Kyle) Newman and five great grandchildren.
Mike was born to Harry and Gertie (Pieper) Becksvoort and was preceded in death by his siblings and their spouses, Harv (Barb), Art (Lois), Leona (Wayne) Scholten, and brother Jim as well as in-laws Marv Stadt, Jim Zylstra and Harry (Gert), Vern (Marilyn) and Art (Dort) Bleeker.
He is survived by sisters, Julia Stadt and Marty Zylstra as well as in-laws Ruth Becksvoort and Ken (Georgiann) Bleeker.
As a young boy, he developed an interest in the financial world and started selling candy bars for a small profit during the war. At age 14, he took on the responsibility for managing the family farm. After marrying, he spent several years in the automotive parts industry and later gave his full-time attention to his waste management business. Along with Elaine, he enjoyed spending several winters at their home in Bradenton, FL.
Above all else, family was most important to him. Always a man of deep faith, quiet strength, and the ability to carry on a conversation with anyone he met, Mike was a blessing to all who knew him.
A time of visitation will be from 9:45am-10:45am Monday, June 8, 2026, at Christ Memorial Church, 595 Graafschap Road, Holland. The funeral service to honor the life of Mike will follow at 11 am in the Chapel (please use doors D & E). Interment will be in Graafschap.
