HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jun. 2, 2026) – A dream of Holland High School to have its own gridiron football stadium on its campus is a step closer to reality.
Ground was broken ceremoniously on Monday for a $19 million facility that will house the Dutch, beginning in the 2027 season. This was funded by voter passage 13 months ago of a $49.2 million bond proposal.
The new stadium will be used for both the football and track and field programs, which will have an admitted drawback, according to School Superintendent Nick Cassidy.
Holland High will have its final gridiron football season at Ray and Sue Smith Stadium this fall, with the last slated home game on October 9th against Comstock Park.
