EAST LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Gonzaga is strengthening its hold on the top spot in the latest men’s college basketball Coaches Poll. The Bulldogs received 25 of the 30 first place votes after beating now number five Iowa Saturday.
Baylor remains at number two while Villanova shoots up three spots to number three. Kansas climbs one spot to four while the Hawkeyes round out the top five.
Michigan State University fell from number four to number 11, while the University of Michigan jumped from 24th to 19th in this week’s Coaches Poll.
MSU dropped to 6-and-1 on the season after a 79-65 loss at Northwestern on Sunday. Michigan improved their record to 6-and-0 with a 62-58 win over Penn State on December 13th.
