IRVING, TX (WHTC-AM/FM, Apr. 9, 2026) – As Hope College prepares to honor its own student-athletes, five Flying Dutchmen are in line to receive a national accolade.
On Wednesday, the National Football Foundation announced a record 2,596 players from 365 schools have earned NFF Hampshire Honor Society recognition for maintaining a cumulative 3.2 grade point average or higher throughout their college careers. This includes Griffin Bloch, Jack Goldie, Travis Meyers, Caleb Paarlbeg and Gavin Reames of Hope. No Grand Valley State Lakers made the list in the 20th anniversary of this annual program.
The NFF has recognized over 23 thousand student athletes from 691 schools in the Hampshire Honor Society since 2007, including Holland Christian product Kirk Cousins of Michigan State.
Also on Wednesday, Hope College announced the list of finalists for its own annual The Hopeys awards for athletic excellence, with the ceremony set for this coming Monday at DeVos Fieldhouse in Holland. An online link to the program, which breaks down the finalists for these honors, is here.
