Anthony “Tony” Ochmanek, of Holland, Michigan, passed away on March 21, 2026, at the age of 77. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, and lived a life defined by dedication to his family, service to his country, and a strong presence in his community.
Tony was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he attended Ferris State University and went on to become a skilled carpenter and successful business owner. His craftsmanship and work ethic were evident in everything he built, and his reputation for quality and integrity was well known.
Tony is survived by his wife, Brenda Ochmanek, with whom he was married for 53 years; his children, Anthony Ochmanek Jr. (Nelly) and Lisa Ruman (Mike); and his grandchildren, Amelie Ochmanek, Cooper, Kyle, Katie, and Sydney Ruman. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Ann Trenta, Paul (Christine) Ochmanek, John Ochmanek, James (Renee) Ochmanek, and Mark Ochmanek.
A man known by many in his community, Tony was friendly, outgoing, and always ready with a conversation or a helping hand. He was an active member of Our Lady of the Lake Church and served faithfully with the Knights of Columbus.
Tony will be remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, dedication to his family, and the lasting impact he had on everyone who knew him.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 480 152nd Avenue in Holland. Public viewing begins at 10:00 AM, followed by Mass at 11:00 AM.
