HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 24, 2026) – There is a new operational leader for Holland Christian Schools.
On Monday, Jeff Haverdink was named as the next Head of Schools, effective on July 1st. A Holland Christian High graduate, he returns after serving as executive director of alumni and family engagement at his collegiate alma mater, Calvin University, and has more than 25 years of executive leadership experience with both the Knights as well as at Dutton Christian School.
With the Maroons, Haverdink will oversee a six-campus, 1,900-student school system, focusing on organizational strategy, financial stewardship, community engagement, and building a culture where teachers and students can thrive. He replaces Eric Forseth, who stepped down last year for health reasons, and takes over for Jeff Pett, who is the interim head of schools for Academic 2026.
Jeff Haverdink is the son of David Haverdink, the long-time Hamilton Fire Chief and one-time Allegan County Sheriff, who died in a vehicle mishap this past Christmas holiday.
