ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 24, 2026) – A standing issue facing the Lakeshore and elsewhere will be addressed on May 8th.
The Allegan County Community Foundation is staging its second Housing Summit on that Friday, as for six hours (8 AM-2 PM), four short sessions will be held at the Griswold Auditorium (401 Hubbard St.) in Allegan. As Foundation Community Impact Officer Chris Kleinjans explains, the goal is to inform and encourage local elected leaders, housing advocates and municipal staff in seeking ways to address and alleviate the 6,200-unit shortage of housing in the county, building off of a similar seminar held last September.
Local housing professionals will be making the presentations, and lunch will be served. More information and registration for the second Allegan County Housing Summit is here.
