DEARBORN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 17, 2026) – It seems as if gas prices are moving inexorably toward the four dollar a gallon mark along the Lakeshore and across Michigan.
In its daily canvassing of stations, Triple-A reported on Tuesday morning a statewide average fuel cost of $3.75, which is four pennies below the national mean, but 15 cents higher than yesterday. Fuel was running at $3.61 a week ago, $2.94 last month, and $3.03 at this time in 2025.
Adrienne Woodland with the Auto Club Group in Dearborn explains.
Locally, Ottawa County’s average of $3.80 is two cents below that of neighboring Allegan and Kent counties, but 14 cents higher than Muskegon County.
