GEORGETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 14, 2026) – Four persons were injured from a two-vehicle crash in Jenison just before dawn on Saturday.
First responders were dispatched to the intersection of Chicago Drive (M-121) and Cottonwood Drive around 5:40 AM. That was where a southbound SUV had stopped for a flashing four-way red light, caused by a power outage overnight due to high winds. As the driver of the SUV, a 38-year-old Allendale woman, proceeded after halting, her vehicle was slammed by another SUV, driven by a 24-year-old Hudsonville man, that didn’t stop for the flashing red signal.
The woman and two passengers – a 64-year-old woman and a nine-year-old girl – were taken to Corewell-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids by LIFE EMS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The apparent at-fault driver also complained of pain and was taken to an undisclosed health care facility by a private source.
The incident remains under investigation.
