HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 14, 2026) – Although wintry weather still lingers, the approach of spring means the end of a successful first season at the Holland Community Ice Park.
The facility, which opened last November to rave reviews, was slated to cease skating this weekend, depending on weather conditions, while the curling sheet has already closed. While crowds thronged to the complex in the Window on the Waterfront Park off of East 6th Street, Fifth Ward Councilman Scott Corbin believes that it will take three to five years to see if the novelty will wear off or not, and that the complex is more than just an Ice Park.
Corbin and his fellow City Council members should be briefed on attendance figures for the first season of the Holland Community Ice Park later this spring.
