UNDATED (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 8, 2026) – In a NCAA Division III women’s basketball championship tournament second-round game at DeVos Fieldhouse last night, Sydney Vis scored 22 points as Hope outlasted visiting Illinois Wesleyan in overtime, 90-85. The Flying Dutch face Chicago on Friday evening.
Both of Grand Valley State’s basketball teams advanced to GLIAC tournament final action this afternoon with wins yesterday. In Marquette, David Wilkerson had 20 points as the men topped Michigan Tech, 82-70, and the Lakers will face host Northern Michigan, a 79-67 winner over visiting Lake Superior State. At the Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale, MacKenzie Bisballe tallied 20 points as the women downed visiting Northern Michigan, 66-38, and GVSU will host Ferris State, a 104-86 victor over Wayne State.
This afternoon, Michigan State is at Michigan to conclude regular-season play.
