Ford to recall nearly 605,000 vehicles in US over windshield wiper issue, NHTSA says

March 5 (Reuters) – Ford is recalling 604,533 vehicles in the ​U.S. because the ‌windshield wiper motor may fail, reducing visibility and increasing the risk ‌of ​a crash, ⁠the U.S. ⁠National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Thursday.

The recall includes certain ​2020-2022 Explorer, Escape, Lincoln Aviator, ⁠and Lincoln ⁠Corsair vehicles.

Dealers will ​inspect and replace the ​front wiper motors as ‌necessary, free of charge, the agency said.

Separately, the automaker is ⁠also recalling 11,431 U.S. vehicles as the driveshaft’s ⁠friction ‌weld may fail, ⁠resulting in rear ​driveshaft ‌separation and a ​sudden ⁠loss of drive power, NHTSA said.
