HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Feb. 23, 2026) – The effort to completely have Holland “wired up” for high-speed Internet service continues.
During a special meeting on Monday, the board of directors for the Holland Board of Public Works is expected to approve six easements with property owners on Sonoma Court, just off of West 32nd Street near 62nd Street, in order to install infrastructure on and through their lots for providing fiber service.
Last year, the BPW established 15 “fiberhoods” to facilitate installation of fiber optic lines, with nine already in place, servicing around 3,500 customers at this point, according to utility General Manager Dave Koster.
The BPW is targeting a June 30th completion date for the overall installation effort.
The Holland BPW board’s 4 PM meeting is at offices near the Water Reclamation Facility (49 W. 3rd St.). An online link to the agenda and supporting documents is here.
