OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 21, 2026) – It may have been very fortuitous that neither driver was injured following a head-on crash of a pickup truck and a semi in West Olive in the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies and other first responders were dispatched to 120th Avenue north of Bingham Street just after 5 AM. That was where a northbound semi, driven by a 46-year-old man from Lauderhill, Florida, collided with the southbound pickup, driven by a 45-year-old Holland man. After impact, the larger truck veered off of the roadway and into a ditch, where it overturned.
Both motorists were able to walk away from the crash, but it took crews some time to clear up the scene and allow traffic to flow through again. What led to the collision wasn’t immediately disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
