EAST LANSING, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 21, 2026) – Excellence in competition, in the classroom, and the community among high school seniors in the state will be spotlighted by the Michigan High School Athletic Association as finalists for its annual Scholar-Athlete Awards were announced on Tuesday.
Among those who are hoping to receive a $2,000 scholarship from Farm Bureau Insurance in a ceremony during the state boys basketball finals at East Lansing’s Breslin Center on March 14th are Maggie Telgenhof and Andrew Legg of Holland, Dylan Becksvoort of Holland Christian, and siblings Maggie & Drew Rothstein of West Ottawa. Winners will be announced next month through the MHSAA website.
The Lakeshore hasn’t had a winner of this honor in four years, since Ella Spooner of West Ottawa, along with Greta VanZetten and Elzien Zomer of Holland, were all recipients.
