ANN ARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The University of Michigan will play Saturday night at Iowa in Big Ten Champions Week games. The Wolverines have been sidelined the past two weeks with a COVID-19 outbreak.
Michigan State University will play Saturday at Maryland. The Spartans dropped to 2-and-5 after a 34-29 loss to Penn State on Saturday.
The University of Illinois is moving on from head coach Lovie Smith. The school has made the decision to move on after Smith spent five years with the program. Illinois was 2-and-5 on the season and 17-39 in his tenure. Smith is the former head coach of the Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In-state rivals Indiana and Purdue are scheduled to play Friday as part of the Big Ten Champions Week. The two were to play for the Old Oaken Bucket in the first weekend of December, but it was put off because of coronavirus concerns.
The Hoosiers have paused all football activities due to COVID-19 protocols making the game doubtful.
