HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga’s decision to join a Texas lawsuit against Michigan and a handful of other states has some West Michgian residents calling for his resignation.
The Holland Sentinel reports that protesters gathered in a socially distanced manner outside Huizenga’s Grandville office Sunday to call for his resignation because the lawsuit challenges result of the November presidential election.
The Texas suit claimed Michigan is among states violating federal law by changing election procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic and repeating claims of voter fraud. The suit also pressed for state legislatures to choose presidential electors.
The U.S. Supreme Court dismissed the Texas claim Friday for lack of standing.
The Sentinel quoted Wyoming woman calling Huizenga a “traitor” for signing onto the lawsuit.
Identifying Representitive Huizenga as a “traitor” and calling for his resignation is ridiculous! Obviously the call comes from a raticle Democrat, ignorant of the facts! Every Republican I know would, I believe, agree as I do with Congressman Huizenga! We are proud of him for doing what’s in our best interest! This man is no traitor! We are fortunate to have him representing us!
The accusation is irresponsible, obsurd and unfounded!
IMO, a retraction and apology is in order!
Thank you Congressman Huizenga for all you do! God Bless You!
