HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 14, 2026) – Are more and more people getting unplugged?
According to a new survey from Talker Research, half of Americans are spending less time looking at screens and it seems to be making them happier. Gen Z is actually leading the charge when it comes to unplugging, with more than 60 percent intentionally putting down the smart phones, and those numbers start going down the older people are.
People who report spending too much time online feel less connected and more anxious while those who intentionally take time to log off report feeling more productive and present. That seems to be the aim of a free “Unplugged Speaker” series from the ODC Network, which kicks off on Wednesday evening with a presentation from author Catherine Price.
Maddie Tunison is the manager of marketing and communications with the non-profit.
