HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Jan. 14, 2026) – Another step in the budget-making process for the City of Holland will be taken on Wednesday evening.
During the 6 PM biweekly study session in the second-floor Training Room of Holland City Hall (270 S. River Ave.), members of the Holland City Council will view 11 separate videos from the municipal leadership team on what their departments have done and wish to do. This comes after two “Coffee with Council” gatherings with the public last week, in which the governing panel members, along with city staffers, met with constituents and other stakeholders.
It’s all part of the effort by Mayor Nathan Bocks and other municipal leaders to come up with a spending plan for Fiscal 2027.
Council will hold a “retreat” at the DeGraaf Nature Center (600 Graafschap Rd.) on January 24th to establish priorities that will help City Manager Keith Van Beek and his staff come up with a financial blueprint. The document will be discussed in detail during a series of meetings in April, before a final vote is taken on May 13th.
The videos produced by department heads should be made available for public viewing later this week through links in the City of Holland’s website.
