At the Cutler Events Center, Parker Hovey scored 33 points, but the visiting Flying Dutchmen needed a Orion Yant layup with 42 seconds left to snap a 63-63 tie, going on to win, 67-65. At DeVos Fieldhouse, Anna Richards tallied 18 points as the Flying Dutch routed the visiting Comets in women’s play, 104-43. On Wednesday, Hope’s teams take on Adrian, with the men meeting in Holland, and the women clashing at the Merillat Center.
Grand Valley State swept a pair of basketball games from visiting Purdue Northwest at the Fieldhouse Arena yesterday. Paige VanStee tossed in 25 points with 11 rebounds, as the Lakers cruised in the women’s opener, 89-61. Ethan Alderink totaled 24 points as the men handled the visiting Pride in the nightcap, 76-54. GVSU’s teams host Davenport in Allendale on Thursday evening.
