Two Motorists Hurt in Crash West of Zeeland

HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Two motorists were hospitalized in a two-vehicle crash on Saturday morning just west of the Zeeland city limits.

According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Christie Wendt, first responders were dispatched to the intersection of 104^th Avenue and Chicago Drive shortly after 9 AM. “An investigation shows that a Hyundai SUV, driven by a 73-year-old Zeeland woman, was westbound on Chicago Drive,” Wendt said in a department statement. “An Audi A4, driven by a 47-year-old (Holland) man was southbound on 104^th Avenue. The driver of the Hyundai stated that she had a green light and was struck in the intersection by the southbound vehicle.”

Both motorists were taken to “area hospitals” for treatment of undisclosed injuries, as the crash remains under investigation.
