DEARBORN, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 23, 2025) – A record number of Americans are expected to travel at least 50 miles from home this holiday season.
According to Triple-A’s projections, over 122-million are expected to be on the move during the holidays, a two-point-two percent increase from last year, with a majority of travelers likely driving to their destinations. In Michigan, Adrienne Woodland with the Auto Club in Dearborn says nearly four million will be heading out, with 3.5 million hitting the road.
Nationally, air travel will also reach new heights, with over eight-million Americans flying domestically. Meanwhile, nearly five million are expected to travel via bus, train or cruise ship.
