Robert D. Raak, age 84, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
With hearts full of gratitude and hope, we celebrate the life of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather – a man whose life was a living testimony of faith, service, and love.
He was a tireless worker, who believed deeply in being the hands and feet of Jesus. Through years of hard work, he faithfully provided for his family. Above all, he loved his family and wife of 62 years. Today, we rejoice that he has entered glory and welcomed home by his Lord and Savior.
He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Delores Kole; and brother-in-law, Carl Heetderks; brother-in-law Bob and Janet Heetderks; and sister-in-law, Isla Brandsen.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Raak; daughter, Julie Raak; daughter, Kris and Brent Wabeke; son, Steve and Kim Raak; daughter, Jacklyn and Doug Brill; grandchildren, Amanda and Brad Meyer, Zach and Kathleen Wabeke, Jason and Courtney Raak, Lindsey Raak (Logan Eby), Jessica and Luke VanderWal, Jordyn Brill (Keegan Kok), Drew and Taylor Brill; 10 great-grandchildren, sister, Arloa and Pieter Knooihuizen; sister, Judi and Jack Redder; brother-in-law, Stan Brandsen; sister-in-law, Donna Heetderks; brother-in-law, Garry and Cathy Heetderks; and his extended family.
Visitation with the family is 3:00-6:00 pm on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Langeland Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland, MI 49423.
Funeral services are at 11:00 am on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Holland Heights Christian Reformed Church, 836 East 8th St. Holland, MI 49423.
Burial to take place in Restlawn Cemetery.
