Jack Schrotenboer age 71, of Hamilton, went to be with his Lord and Savior while surrounded by those
he loved Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Corwell Health Butterworth Hospital after battling an
aggressive illness following a procedure.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd, Sr., brother, Lloyd, and sister Laurie Strowenjans.
He graduated from Hamilton High School and Davenport College and worked in the transportation
industry for 34 years.
Jack lived his life guided by his deep faith. He loved Jesus wholeheartedly and sought to reflect Christ’s
love through kindness, humility, and service to others. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather,
great grandfather, and mentor to many as he worked with and served on the board of numerous non-
profits. His faith was not only spoken but lived out daily, as he actively participated in the life of
Corner Bible Church and the surrounding community. He was always ready to lend a helping hand.
Family and relationships were the greatest joy of his life. He was a steady presence, offering wisdom,
encouragement, and unconditional love to all who knew him. He cherished time spent with his family,
creating memories that will be treasured forever.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn; children, Lesley (Mike) Remick, Mitch (Teresa)
Schrotenboer, Jared (Sarah) Schrotenboer; 6 grandchildren, Peyton (Kayla), Easton, Olivia, Haley, Lucy,
Connor; 2 great grandchildren, Leah and Luke; Mother, Juella Schrotenboer; siblings Cal (Ardale)
Schrotenboer, Doug (Jan) Schrotenboer; sister-in-law, Gale Schrotenboer; mother-in-law, Mary Gibbs;
in-laws, Evelyn (Norm) Lyzenga, Helen (Craig) Zeerip; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2025 at Corner Bible Church, 4001 124th Ave Allegan, MI 49010. Interment will be in Overisel Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, December 18, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland.
