Lloyd was the beloved husband of the late Carolyn Westerhof Van Dyke for 66 years. He started work as a mechanic for Maycroft and Versendaal, and RE Barber. He ended his career as a diesel mechanic working at Overland Industrial Equipment, Bishop Motor Express in GR, and lastly Bareman’s Dairy.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing, camping, and working on projects around the house. In their retirement years, Lloyd and Carol escaped the Michigan winters by heading south with their fifth-wheel trailer. Their favorite places included Quartzite, AZ, Truth or Consequences, NM, and Yuma, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn (2023), sons-in-law Mark Kuite (1995), and Sheldon Booth Jr. (2022), and his great-granddaughter, Kimberly Kuite (2012).
He is survived by his children, Pam Booth, Paula (Michael) Gilmore, Deb Therrian, Sally (David) Elenbaas, Tom Van Dyke; grandchildren, Michael, Erika, Joshua, Daniel, and Ryan; 4 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Philip Westerhof, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5-7pm Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E 16th St. Holland. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
