HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Dec. 18, 2025) – Winter’s chill may have descended upon the Tulip City early this season, but the Holland City Council was asked to think about warmer times during its final business meeting of the calendar year on Wednesday.
Among the items on the agenda for the 6 PM session, in Chambers at Holland City Hall off of River Avenue, was a request by the Downtown Development Authority to amend a current ordinance involving outdoor dining for eateries along 8th Street. Currently, such establishments can claim parking space in front of their business through October 1st. The DDA wants to extend that permission to October 15th, as City Manager Keith Van Beek explained.
Council approved this matter unanimously.
Due to the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holidays, the Holland City Council won’t meet again until January 7th.
